Excited in Thunder Bay!

I'm downloading podcasts after Tourism Keys I today in Thunder Bay. Just found out that Mozilla has released Firefox 1.5 .
If you don't know what firefox is, it is time you learned. Windows and Mac users who browse the Internet with Firefox will not use anything else. The fastest browser in the world offers tabbed browsing so that multiple windows can open. New widgets can be installed that permit some outrageously innovative ways to use the Web. My new fav's.

The Answers add-in lets you right click on any word in your browser and it will go to answers.com to display the best dictionary definition for the word based on its use!

The Paypal add-in lets users use their paypal account to send money...

Firefox was great before, today its awesome.

Looking forward to telling Thunder Bay TKII participants about it tomorrow.

Newfoundland and Labrador Interview

I just got off the phone with CBC Radio in Cornerbrook. They were interested in how tourism businesses can benefit from the Internet. It was a nice interview, but the more interesting thing is how they found out about Tourism Keys.... turns out, they were searching the Internet and found our Web log.
Weblogs like this one can help your tourism business be found too. Come to a Tourism Keys workshop and we'll get you started.

Tourism Marketing Rich Media

I've been in Gros Morne Nat'l Park helping workshop participants understand how to enrich the Web with content that teases the senses helps bring tourism experiences into traveller's homes. Here is a video of Wade Jones of the band Anchor's Away playing Wipe Out on the Ugly Stick (11 Meg) - a traditional Newfoundland instrument. If you have a high speed connection and can enjoy this 90 second clip, think about what elements you provide that are visual and/or auditory that can be brought to life for travellers in their homes.
