Lean Forward / Lean Back

The title of this post is perhaps the simplest way to explain the
essence of new media and the online engagement that is social
networking as it relates to the old entertainment / internet
experience.
The new internet is engaging and participatory. Viewers are invited
to participate in the conversation and contribute. The old internet,
much like television viewing or going to the movies was simply an
activity of consumption. Lay back and take it in. Be entertained.

The new Internet invites internet users to be active.... it's more
about surfing, than watching people surf.

How can your ideal guest engage with you using the Internet? Managing
your Feeds and making them available to people who want them is
perhaps the best way to let your visitors get to know you better . . .
on their terms.

Social Networking platforms are perhaps the easist way to invite
participation in the new Internet. We may not understand completely
why people want to know where we are and what we are doing. Indeed we
may have no interest at all in following others.... but others want
to follow us.

Keep your Web site alive and encourage those who want to enhance their
relationship with you . . . . remember, it's all about Customer
Relationship Management, and these new tools can make it easier.
