Being found by search engines in your own backyard is difficult enough.... how about reaching travellers in other countries with the words they use at home to find travel?
Consider the word "accommodation". Commonly misspelled, it is used most often in the UK, Australia and New Zealand to describe places to stay whi le travelling. The word "travelling" itself but with two l's spelled "travelling" in Canada and in British English but with only one l - traveling in the U.S. The words "accommodations" (note the s) and "lodging" are more commonly used by Americans. A similar distinction can be made for the words "holiday" and "vacation", with the latter being more common in the U.S. In Ontario, many travellers often use the word 'getaway' for short in-province travel experiences commonly enjoyed around weekends.
Many in tourism offer toll free calling. However, overseas guests cannot make use of this service. If you have a toll free number, be sure to provide a phone number that overseas visitors can call as well. Can you provide services or Voice/Video Chat on your site to provide a similar level of service to international guests?
