Web Stats - Why do I see so many zero second visits?
The zero second visits come about when the visitor only sees one page, and then leaves. Statistics are only recorded by your log files when there is a start and a finish to a visit. Even if visitors spent 30 seconds scanning over content before reaching for the back button many of these visits will appear on your Web stats as zero seconds.
Not even JavaScript can tell when a visitor closes the browser window or types in a new URL. So don't get too worried about these zero second visits, instead consider trends over time.
