How can a DMO produce great Video with their local Tourism Businesses?

Hi Todd

Great workshop last week in Sudbury!  Now to find the time to implement it!!
I was intrigued by your mention of video for all the operators of each of the DMOs…has your daughter done any in the area yet?  I would love to check them out on-line if you can tell me the link…

Thanks!

Hi Bev,  Indeed video featuring members of your DMO can be a great way to generate income and support local tourism businesses.  Natalie's blog features a few of the videos she has creating.... other video can be seen and linked to from: http://northernedgealgonquin.com/video9.html

The real value is in getting video featuring people that visitors will meet, or recent visitors talking about their experience.  This is another quick video chatting with folks about Northern Ontario.

or talking to local survers in Nova Scotia.

or an excellent use of story by Butterfield and Robinson.

For most tourism businesses, the capacity to create their own video just isn't there.... but when the community Web site can help develop this kind of content, the possibilities are endless.  Let's look to hire the capacity to create all kinds of media and offer expanded services to our members.

Think about local stories, local secret spots, local people and recent visitors and craft something special for our communities.
